Nellie is as sleek and swift as a racehorse. In fact, she is named after a Preakness winner. It is a delight to watch her race around the yard, exploring and just enjoying being out and about. Nell will likely make a great running companion.

But Nellie has the advantage over a race horse in that she is compact and petite – a perfect lap size. Although she is shy and cautious when first meeting new people, once they have gained her trust, she becomes very attentive and affectionate to them. Nellie loves to drape herself over one’s lap to get hugs and caresses. She is a great napping companion, too, and snuggles close, keeping one warm and cozy.

Nellie gets along well with dogs. She is in a foster home with six canine companions and is very compatible with them. However, she will do just as well as an only dog, as long as her humans do not leave her alone and lonely for long hours.

Nellie is house trained and crate trained. She is quickly learning leash walking skills. Because she is so active and loves to run, a securely fenced yard is a must for Nell. Any children in the home should be 8 years or older.
