Cherie Noir and her littermates were born in an abandoned car at an auto shop in Bear Creek.  Their mom, Hermione, had been hanging around and when the kittens were born the shop owner contacted CARE for help for both mom and the kittens.  The kittens were curled up on the floorboard on the floor and mom was doing a great job of caring for them but they needed to be in a safe place.  Mom and kittens went to a CARE foster caregiver who has raised them to be healthy, active and very friendly kittens.  Here is what Cherie wants you to know about her:

"Hello, my friends, Cherie Noir here. Apparently my name translates into “Black Beauty” in French. And I gotta admit, I’m pretty exotic. And pretty gorgeous. Solid black with just a few white hairs on my throat. 

But so much for outer beauty. I have great inner strengths.  And I mean strengths! 

When I was a baby I was the first of my very ambitious brothers and sisters to vault into the tub where we were still being fed our three-times-a-day wet kitten food. (Yum yum.)

Which means, I’m athletic and fearless, and can take care of myself.  Plus which, I inherited the family purrbox from our mother Hermione.
