Betty loves to be loved, cuddled, and pet. After an unknown few years of living in "survivor" mode, she's making up for lost affection time. It took her several weeks of adjustment with her fosters after the trauma of rescue, veterinary care (including having dental surgery to remove all of her remaining teeth), and several weeks of boarding at the animal hospital. Betty finally realized she was safe, well fed, loved, and easily displayed her gratitude. She will bond closely with her caretaker and would be ideally suited for a single person or a couple with no young children and no other pets (she gets jealous, evidenced by her reluctance to accept our other cat as housemate until now - 4 months later!). She takes turns sleeping with my husband and me. She comes to us readily for affection. Even though she had her teeth removed, she can eat almost anything though her favorite meal is a soupy mixture with a bowl of dry food on the side. Her litterbox habits are excellent (best we've seen). She loves her perch by our window overlooking the bird feeders. We'd love to see this middle aged sweetie get adopted by a single person or couple with no other pets since she wants reciprocate devotion.
