Meet Daisy!

Like her name suggests, she is a sweet little burst of sunshine.  Daisy is an older girl, but has plenty of spring in her step. She enjoys playing gentle games of fetch with her tennis ball, napping, cuddles, and walks. She has excellent manners and is very good with children, other dogs and cats.  She is about as chill as they come.

Daisy came to us as an owner surrender after impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic emergency made it impossible to maintain her care and living situation - she was not able to join her owner in his new home.  We are fortunate to have received significant historical and health records from her life-long owner to pass along to her new forever person or people.

It is perhaps not a surprise that a senior dog may come with some medication and specialized food needs.  She is being treated with Proin, which effectively manages urinary incontinence.  She also has extensive food allergies, thus must eat specialized dog foods that do not contain most grains, chicken, and some other foods which are listed in a snazzy report from the vet.  Her hearing and eyesight are not as sharp as they once were, and there are many nights when she needs to go out for a quick pee at around 1:00AM (or she will pee on a pad if left for her).  This is not always remedied with a trip outside before bed.  She moves well, though she sometimes shows a little stiffness.  This seems improved with glucosamine supplements.

She is a loving, devoted companion who will happily binge watch any Netflix offering you care to sit beside her for, or join you for a good book, a game of tug of war, or a little game of fetch, because it is impossible to refuse her when she drops her tennis ball at your feet and looks up at you hopefully with her little waggy tail!  Daisy would be very happy to have a gentle canine sibling.  She is completely indifferent to the cat.
