Wiley is a German Shepard who is around 2 years old. He is a loving and happy dog who craves attention. His tail is constantly wagging and he just makes you smile with his cheery disposition. He is very intelligent, active, and eager to please. Wiley gets along well with other dogs. His foster home has three other dogs and he loves to engage them in play. He does like to play a little hard at times but he recognizes which dogs will tolerate this and which ones will not. He also has two cats in his foster home and he has learned to get along with them well also. Wiley loves his toys and enjoys fetching. He really enjoys picking up the occasional stray sock and parading it around the house for all to see. Wiley is very well behaved while riding in a vehicle. He is crate trained and also walks well on a leash though he does still want to pull when walking with other dogs.
Wiley had a rough start in life. He was picked up as a stray by a local animal shelter. He tested positive for heartworms and was underweight. He also had an old injury to his front left leg which had been broken; possibly from being hit by a car. Since being fostered by CARE, Wiley has been neutered, treated to rid him of his heartworms, and gotten proper nutrition and care. His front left leg was determined not to need any surgery since it was an old injury that had healed on its own. He shows no signs of limping or pain in the leg but will need joint supplements throughout his life.
Wiley is a wonderful dog looking for the right match for a forever home. Wiley needs a home that has a fence with lots of room to play as he is an active guy and not suited for apartment type living. He would also do best with another dog in the home and an active family. Any children in the home would need to be at least ten years old because Wiley can get robust in his play.
