Fred is a typical goofy basset hound! He loves food, playing, and following his nose.  He loves all humans and dogs but gets very excited when encountering new friends.  Fred is 100% hound and requires a home that has experience with them.  He can be extremely stubborn when he gets his nose on something interesting.  He requires a home that is willing to continue his training to help him with impulse control.  Fred needs to be in a home that is very active.  Fred is very busy and needs activity to keep him occupied.  He would do well in a home as an only dog or a home with another dog that would be very tolerant of an overly affectionate boy such as Fred. I would be remiss not to mention that Fred loves to cuddle up in any willing lap and would absolutely love for his humans to love lap time too!  Fred is very vocal and would not do well in an environment with lots of neighbors that wouldn't enjoy hearing Fred doing his very enthusiastic Bassett bowing.  

Fred is great with kids but would do best in a home where any children are at least 8 years old. 

While Fred loves cats, he gets too excited around them, he would do best in a home without cats. 

Fred is up to date on all his vaccines and preventative medications.  He's been neutered and microchipped.
