Meet Franklin!  This young Schnauzer mix boy will steal your heart and your lap quickly!  Franklin adores every human he meets and enjoys the company of small and large pups to play and snuggle with once he feels comfortable....though he likes to hog all the attention at times when humans are involved. 

Franklin was living in an abandoned chicken coop with little interaction to humans, and would repeatedly escape the enclosure and isolation.  He was picked up by animal control and his owners decided he was too much trouble and did not wish to have him back.  With his sad background, it's no wonder this precious pup has some separation anxiety! Franklin gets extremely anxious when crated or left alone, even with another pup in the home.  So, he will need a family who are either retired or who work from home, where he is left the minimum amount of time alone.  He would do best with a very chill, easy going and well adjusted pup as a companion in his new home, but Franklin would enjoy having the full attention of his very own human as well!  Franklin will also need continuing training and behavioral modification to help him realize that he is safe and loved in his new environment.  

Due to his attachment to his humans, Franklin cannot be allowed outside alone, even for short periods, as he will attempt to escape to find his people.  Franklin would also need a dog savvy owner and is not for the first time dog owner.

Though Franklin has some challenges, he is the epitome of loyalty, devotion and love.  He loves to climb into your lap and snuggle as close as possible and gaze at you as if you hung the moon and all the stars personally, just for him.

Franklin is fully housetrained, knows basic commands, is a great eater, snuggler, walks beautifully on leash, loves car rides, enjoys exploring the world with his humans and will be your most dedicated fan.  He is neutered, up-to-date on heartworm and flea/tick preventions, as well as vaccinations.  Franklin would do best in a home with all children over the age of 8, who understand proper dog etiquette.  Do you believe you are that perfect family and home??  If so, fill out an application and someone will respond quickly.
