Ryder came to CARE tipping the scale at just a wee bit over 30lbs. His blood-work was excellent as well as his overall health, other than the obesity. Ryder is working hard to lose the excess weight, but it is going to take time. In the meantime, he deserves a loving home he can call his own.
Ryder is the type of cat that has never met a stranger. If you show him that you're interested in interacting with him, he'll roll over so you can pet his belly. All he wants is to be loved. He's polite and respectful of other kitties, and fine with cat friendly dogs. Even though his history is amiable to other animals, it's important Ryder does not have free access to the other household animals' food. His intake must be closely monitored.
Ryder is truly a love. He doesn't demand anything. Meows are typically because he wants to be around people. He doesn't have to be in the same room with you, just wants to know where you are. He's so very sweet.
Ryder needs 2-3 cans pate food daily as he continues his weight loss journey. He was already neutered and is up to date on his vaccines. He has a silver-back appearance because it was difficult for him to groom easily with the excess weight. Ryder will be micro-chipped before adoption. Apply to meet him soon, he will not disappoint.
