Dora (short for adorable) is a sweet, loving, curious, and playful shepherd mix who loves the water, walks, and playtime. Since day 1, she has shown herself to be house trained (zero accidents, nothing chewed, gentle around people and things). She loves every person she meets and is a little cuddle bunny; she loves to be loved and give love back. Her favorite position after initial greeting is on her back so you can rub her belly. Dora is great with food and with treats, which she takes gently. Dora is a little scared of thunderstorms and lightning, but if you have a closet or space she can hide out, she is fine and just hunkers down quietly until it is over.
Dora has shown herself to be great with other dogs and is learning how to play. She is not responsive to toys or balls but does love to chase and tentatively wrestle with other dogs. We have not met any cats yet so we are unsure how she is with cats. Dora would be happy being with other dogs or being the only dog. She bonds quickly and loves to be wherever her humans are. We have left her alone for a few hours and she also seems fine alone.
She is about 64 lbs now and could drop around 10 lbs. With exercise and watching her nutrition, she has already dropped a few pounds in a few weeks so we think she will be able to do this easily and be about 54lbs. She is house trained, crate trained, great in the car, good on the leash, and has been spayed, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. She truly is the sweetest, most loving dog and will be an amazing addition to any family.
